Department History:
                The ENT Department was already existing and it was manned by civil surgeon and assistant surgeon. When the hospital was attached to KAPV Govt. Medical college,In the year.T he department continued with adequate number of faculty members as per MCI norms.
NAME OF THE COURSES OFFERED: MBBS
 Eligibility: +2 with with merit base.
 Course duration: 5.5 years
 Sanctioned no. Of seats: 100 seats
 Affiliated University: Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University
Selection Procedure: By application & Counselling by Selection                     Committe,Kilpauk, Chennai.
University examination details : Non semester system. Appearing for ENT Exam in 3rd year of curriculum.
 
PERIODIC ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES HELD IN THE DEPARTMENT:
*Everyday in the OPD cases are clinically demonstrated between 7:30 am and 9:30 a.m
*Between 10-a.m and 12 p.m general clinical will be conducted in the annexure.
 *A group of students divided  in batches are permitted to watch the ENT surgeries done in OT weekly twice.
*Theory classes are conducted in the afternoon at lecture halls in the college, twice a week.
*Exam going students will write internal assessment theory and clinical  test apart from class tests.
 
RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION:
Prizes & Awards constituted by the dept.: Medal exam is conducted during every academic year and the best and 2nd best candidates are awarded a medal and certificate respectively.

5)Head & Neck benign and oncological surgeries.

7)Submandibular salivary gland excision.
8)Minor surgeries like sebaceous cyst excision in the face and neck.
   -Ear hole repair
   -Neck node biopsy
   -Incision & drainage of quinsy,septal abscess.
  -  Scopies  & Foreign body Removal.
