DEPARTMENT OF DENTAL SURGERY
 
            The Department of Dental Surgery was started in the year 1959. The Department has served to the public with various medical officers from that day onwards. The Department was functioning as single medical officer department till the hospital being converted as medical college. After that the department was serving with adequate number of faculty members. before the Department was having One MDS Professor and Two BDS Tutors. But now the Department is functioning with adequate MDS medical officers of various specialties and senior residents. Specialist serving in our department includes Senior Periodontist, One Endodontist / Conservative Dental Surgeon and One Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. With this faculty our Department stands first in Government Medical College Dental Departments in handling Chief Minister’s comprehensive health insurance scheme patients. Our department has treated over 125 CMCHIS patients for the last year alone and the services are going on.
